I've lived in Loughborough all my life and therefore have a vast extensive knowledge of all local towns/villages around the Loughborough area, including all of the various routes potentially being used by examiners when conducting Driving Tests.

From October 4th 2010 the Driving Test will have undergone a few minor changes in the way its assessed..

During the course of the test you will be expected to show the examiner you can drive for a 10 minute period without receiving any verbal instruction at all..

You will be given a set of instructions that require you to follow a specific set of road signs or markings, or you'll be given a simple set of diagrams to follow.

Dont worry about going the wrong way, or missing a turn..The examiner will simply ask you to keep going, and he'll get you back on route as soon as is practical...If the road signs are not visible or hard to see, he will still prompt you.

Or if you want anything clarifying, again you can ask for confirmation...
If you're reading road (as you should be) there's no problem...Its designed to to encourage you to become totally independant, so when you pass your test, thats exactly what you'll carry on doing when you're out driving by yourself

MORE GENERAL ADVICE...... "INDEPENDANT DRIVING"

During the course of your driving lessons we will be covering all of the potential test routes in and around Loughborough etc, but I don't believe in teaching my pupils PRE-SET ROUTES........

This can often be counter-productive. I strongly believe you should be given the opportunity to cover as many different types of roads and conditions that time allows........

This is now even more important with the introduction of the revised test which started on October 4th 2010, which will now include a 10 minute section of "INDEPENDANT DRIVING" where you'll asked to follow a series of road signs, or diagrams.

There are some really good video's available on YOU TUBE. You must become fully prepared for the time when you pass your test and finally venture onto today's very busy roads on your own.......

Too often many of todays young drivers are not prepared, often with disastrous consequences !!!
